Experience the fun of dancing Salsa in a circle and learn easily great Salsa moves to sizzling beat of Salsa in a wonderful atmosphere. Every move has a name. When 'the caller' calls out a move everyone is doing it at the same time.
Constant and fast change of partners guarantees that everyone will dance with everyone. 

Monday Evenings at Cayuga Vault
7- 8 pm Technique and Style class (for Beginners 2 & Intermediate 1)
8 - 9 pm Bridge class to Intermediate 1

Wednesday Evenings at Cayuga Vault
7- 8 pm Intro / Beginners level 1 to Salsa & Salsa Rueda

Drop In's $7.00 per class. Student discount rate $5 (full time students with valid ID)

Salsa Rueda Santa Cruz'™ offers an introduction class for people who don't have any Salsa knowledge. Experience the fun and join our dancing in a circle to happy Salsa music. Have a great time, get a good workout and learn hot and sizzling Salsa moves! This collective style of dancing salsa is an empowering and affirmative experience. It is a fun and supportive way to get an aerobic work out, build coordination, rhythm and confidence in a Latin music atmosphere. More advanced dancers generously assist the beginners.

Two-Day Intensive Music Seminar:
Introduction to Arabic Music with Elias Lammam

A rare opportunity for musicians trained in western classical, jazz, or other musical traditions, and current students of Arabic music, to obtain a comprehensive introduction to Arabic music and learn several classic songs in just two days, with one of the most knowledgeable and talented Arabic musicians in the U.S. Elias Lammam has taught Arabic music and theory at U.C. Berkeley and other institutions throughout the world, and has directed and/or instructed several ensembles in California, including ASWAT, a community choir for classical Arabic singing; the Student Middle Eastern Instrumental Ensemble at the Middle Eastern Music and Dance Camp in Mendocino, California; and an instrumental ensemble at the University of California, Berkeley. He currently directs student ensembles in the San Francisco Bay Area, and provides instruction in accordion, oud, nay, Arabic percussion, vocals, maqam theory, and Arabic rhythms. This seminar will consist of four classes: Maqams, Rhythms, Vocals, and Ensemble class. All types of instrumentalists and vocalists may attend the seminar.
